Jamie Macphail leads the design team. Having been born and bred in rural Hawke's Bay, Jamie has a passion for the landscape of the area. He spent twenty years out of Hawke's Bay, gaining a range of experience. The appeal of the burgeoning Hawke's Bay lifestyle drew him back in the 1990s, to establish this business.

Jamie has a Diploma in Landscape Design & Technology and has worked in Auckland under his own name and for Natural Habitats, a prominent national landscape design & construction company. He has also worked for Alfresco, New Zealand's leading outdoor furniture retailer, and continues to have a close association with this firm.

Two assistants work with Jamie on design and draughting plans.

Jamie has worked on a wide range of projects, from small scale domestic through to the design and project management of large scale commercial developments.

Currently he is project managing the implementation of a significant landscape development for Craggy Range Winery, the most extensive new winery development in New Zealand.

Recently completed projects include the design and overseeing of the construction of a 250 metre long drystone wall in the Tuki Tuki valley, and the design and management of the new gardens for The Mission Winery in Greenmeadows. Several ongoing projects that Jamie is involved in the design and management of have budgets that run to several hundred thousand dollars.

Jamie's work has featured in national house and garden magazines, and he is a contributing writer to a highly regarded national garden magazine.
